paper mario ttyd trials problem

playing through pit of 100 trials. on trial 27, ran away from bandit boo bandit boo bandit fight (killed 1/3 bandit rest of enemies at 2 or 3 hp), went back into same fight, leveled up (hp), then the bandit did not die(?), with refilled hp and fp i killed the bandit again for star points… thought it was interesting the bandit encounter did not resolve and had me fight again, no other level up, defeated bandit and went to trial 28. weird stuff lol
